Kirk Medas, ‘Floribama Shore’ Star, Dies at 33
After Severe Health Battle
Sadly, Kirk Medas, who was well-known
for his work on MTV's Floribama Shore, died at the age of 33 after an extended
illness.
A Sudden Loss After a
Tough Battle
Kirk
Medas passed away on May 2, 2025, following weeks of hospitalization due to a
severe case of necrotic gastritis. His father told TMZ that liver failure, an
outcome of his disease, was the cause of death.
After his condition declined, Medas was transported to intensive care, sedated,
and eventually placed on a ventilator. Before passing away, Medas had been in
the hospital for more than two weeks, according to his friend and fellow
Floribama Shore cast member Aimee Hall.
An MTV spokesperson issued an emotional remark:
The horrific death of Kirk Medas, a loved one of the Floribama Shore family,
has left us deeply crushed. During this trying time, our prayers and thoughts
are with his family, friends, and fans.

Emotional Tributes
Fans had been
informed of Medas' health by both Aimee Hall and her co-star Nilsa Prowant.
They sent a link to a GoFundMe page that Medas' family had created to assist
with the growing costs of his medical care and, now, his funeral. The new title
of the fundraiser, which has raised nearly $27,000, is "Support Kirk
Medas: Funeral Arrangement & Medical."
"Rehab and medical expenses will be covered by the gift. The family posted
on the website, "Your donations will be greatly appreciated as he does not
have medical insurance." "Please keep Kirk in your thoughts and
prayers."
What Is Necrotizing
Pancreatitis?
Inflammatory
condition, in which infection causes sections of the pancreas to start dying,
is a serious complication of severe pancreatitis, according to the Cleveland
Clinic. In severe cases like Medas', it can be fatal and cause long-term health
issues.
Remembering Kirk Medas
Kirk
had 25 appearances on Floribama Shore from 2017 to 2020. Known for his warmth,
humor, and infectious passion, he gained popularity very fast. His passing
has caused an empty space among his loyal fan base as well as among his
close-knit cast of friends.
In a Facebook post that has since been eliminated, Aimee Hall paid an honest
homage to her friend:
"We lost Kirk, our dearest friend, our brother, and our heart. I felt it
while I was at the beach. A dolphin repeatedly approached me before the
call ever arrived, apparently to bid me farewell.
Hall proceeded by
talking about how they both loved the beach and how she had a gut feeling that
things had changed.
Knowing that he is no longer in pain gives me comfort, even if my heart is
broken. He is now free, whole, and making everyone laugh in a way that only he
could in heaven.
She remembered a poignant last moment:
The moment they put him on the respirator is something I will always remember.
His eyes started to well up with tears as I told him I loved him. I will never
forget that memory.
A Legacy of Light and
Love
People remember Kirk Medas for
bringing people together. He was "the glue that held us all close,"
as Hall put it, and many friends and fans agree. His presence, dulcet voice,
and laughter had a profound impact, and those who knew and loved him will
always be inspired by his memory.
