Selena Gomez Shares Adorable Story Behind First Kiss With Benny Blanco: “I Was So Nervous, I Got a Rash”

Selena Gomez is talking about a charming, if a little odd, experience in her budding relationship with Benny Blanco. In a recent interview with Jessie and Lennie Ware on the Table Manners podcast, the singer-actress revealed how her first kiss with Blanco turned out unexpectedly, giving her more than just butterflies.

A Game Sparks the Moment

With their newly released music video "Talk," Gomez and Blanco gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at their romance, sharing honest details about how their relationship initially blossomed.

"We were just hanging out in the living room, sitting on the couch, and playing the game 'We're Not Strangers,'" Blanco said when recounting their second date. They were told to take a selfie with the person next to them on one of the cards. When Gomez leaned on Blanco's chest to take the picture, it set off a chain of events.

When Blanco saw her, he says, "I thought, 'I have to kiss this girl,'" and he immediately leaned in to kiss her.

A Nervous Reaction to a Meaningful Kiss

Gomez confirmed that the kiss was "a very good kiss," as she put it. But she was unprepared for the feelings that followed. Blanco shared, "She was so anxious that her heart began to race so quickly that she produced a rash on her face." Gomez stopped him after he joked that she might have reacted that way because he is "so ugly and nasty."

She clarified that emotions, rather than allergies, were the cause of the rash. She remarked, "I hadn't liked anyone in a very long time." "Some kisses used to be just for fun, but when there's emotion involved, it's a whole other story."

Selena Reflects on Being Vulnerable After Time Alone

The star of Only Murders in the Building opened up about how vulnerable she felt at the time, revealing that, aside from "a few crappy dates here and there," she had been living alone for the majority of the previous five years.

She said, "I was a little embarrassed." "Even though I really wanted to respond, 'I like you,' I was like, 'No, no, I'm good,' when Benny asked how I was. I genuinely like you.

Fans were moved by their story, which emphasized the awkwardness and beauty of falling in love after a lengthy period of being alone. Fans are still enchanted by Gomez and Blanco's chemistry in both their personal and musical lives, and their first kiss tale is just one more cause to cheer for them.
